CTC465 – Casing my favourite retiring punch

Welcome to another week at Caseing the Catty. I’ve had an “exciting” weekend. My husband managed to injure his shoulder whilst using his scooter on Friday night. He was avoiding a spider and managed to fall off. We ended up going to the hospital on Saturday afternoon as the pain was getting worse. Many hours later, with a diagnosis of a fractured shoulder, we got home and were in bed at mid-night!

So we are casing our Favourite retiring punches from either catalogue.

I have loved the Inked and Tiled punch pack and I’m sad to see it go. Although these two punches will not be leaving my collection! My card today is cased from page 94 of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue.

At the recent Onstage event for demonstrators, I was lucky enough to receive the new Full of Life DSP, which is so bright and colourful! I used a piece of Berry Burst cardstock as my base and then added a piece of the DSP. I then punched out a couple of tiles from the paper and one from Basic White which I stamped my sentiment on from the Inked & Tiled stamp set in Berry Burst. I then cut the tiles in half and layered them behind the sentiment piece. In order to make it stand out from the DSP, I added a final tile in Berry Burst. A bit of white twine behind the sentiment and all done!

Such a bright and cheerful card! Next up is the very talented Judy May.

We would love to have you join us over on at our Facebook group and share your creation casing your favourite retiring punch.

CTC463 – Case a bundle

Happy Easter! I hope you have had a lovely long weekend! And isn’t it great that we get another day off tomorrow!

We are casing the bundle section, pages 67-73 of the January-April 2024 Mini Catalogue.

There are lots of lovely samples for the bundles that you can purchase in the mini catalogue. I decided to case the card featuring the Perennial Postage bundle on page 72.

I selected this one as I thought it would be great to showcase one of the pretty designer series papers. It’s a great card idea to use up your scraps. I went with the Masterfully Made DSP as I love the bold colours. I started off with a base of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and cut out a number of different sizes of the Perennial Postage dies. I then played around with the layout and once I was happy with it, I glued it down using tombow glue. I then stamped a sentiment from the Colour & Contours stamp set in Blackberry Bliss. And that’s it! A nice and quick card but one that pops!

Next up is Peta and Marvi.

We would love to see your creation, so please share over on at our Facebook group.

CTC462 – Case sketch from page 70

It’s already hard to get back to normal after a fun weekend with my stamping friends! But what was exciting is that my pre-order of new goodies arrived! There are so many gorgeous new goodies to play with!

We are casing another great sketch from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalogue on page 70.

This is such an easy sketch and there are so many ways you could use it.

I decided to use the Countryside Inn DSP and have that be the focus. I know I often get carried away with lots of details on cards, but you don’t need to do that all the time.

As we are coming up to Easter, I decided to focus on the paper featuring a bunny. I used one piece of DSP for the background and then die cut using the Everyday Details dies my feature DSP. I then added a border of Night of Navy. The sentiment is from a retired set, Fable Friends and is stamped in Boho Blue. Also die cut from the Everyday Details dies. And a bit of white twine behind it.

Next up is the lovely Rachel!

We would love to see your creation, so please share on our Facebook group.

CTC461 – Case the colours of the Lighter than Air DSP

Well, I have had such a fun weekend in Melbourne celebrating Onstage 2024 with my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Onstage is the yearly conference put on by Stampin’ Up! where we get inspiration, lots of crafting demonstrations and chances catch up with our stamping friends.

Those of the Crew who were able to make it managed to catch up for a photo and it was so nice to see everyone in person. For some of us, it’s been a long time!

We have Rachel, Kathryn, Peta, Lauren, Monique, Rebecca (me), Judy and Rose.
Julia couldn’t make the main photo, so here we are!

So this week, we are casing the colours of the Lighter than Air DSP, which includes Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia. All of these are from the subtles family and are so nice and soft together.

I decided to go simpler with my card and had to use the Filled with Happiness stamp set which co-ordinates with the Modern Oval punch. I used Pool Party cardstock for the base and then stamped the birthday sentiment on the white card in Pool Party, Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia. On a separate piece of white, I stamped in Memento Black and coloured the image in using blends in Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Fresh Freesia. I then punched out the centre piece and used dimensionals to give some depth.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our slightly delayed hop! Next up is the lovely Tina, who sadly didn’t make it to Melbourne! I hope she is coming to the Brisbane event next year!!

We would love to see your creations using this colour combo so please share over on at our Facebook group.
